BANJA LUKA, APRIL 20 /SRNA/ – SNSD Leader Milorad Dodik says that the visit of Russian Federation Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko to Banja Luka is yet another confirmation of the close and friendly Republika Srpska - Russia relations, based on mutual understanding, support, and respect, within the framework of a strategic partnership.

"I am very pleased that we will host Grushko tomorrow in Banja Luka and Republika Srpska," Dodik said. He emphasizes that Republika Srpska is providing full and principled support to the Russian Federation in its efforts to protect its sovereignty and security through the special military operation. "Republika Srpska did not allow BiH to impose sanctions on Russia and resisted all pressures. By doing so, Republika Srpska has demonstrated a consistent policy of neutrality and independent decision-making," Dodik stressed. On the other hand, Dodik adds Russia has been one of the key guarantors of the Dayton Peace Agreement and a consistent defender of its provisions in the international arena. "Russia’s firm ‘NO’ to attempts to undermine Serb interests and stigmatize the Serb people represents a lasting obligation to preserve and enhance our relations, as we inherited them from our ancestors and as we are obliged to pass them on to our descendants," Dodik stated. He emphasized that Republika Srpska - Russia relations are not only political - they are based on trust, principles, and understanding, which oblige further strengthening. "In a time of major global challenges, such relations carry additional weight and significance," Dodik posted on X.
