JANKOVIĆ: MULTIPLE CAPITAL PROJECTS UNDERWAY, TREBINJE BYPASS EXPECTED BY END OF 2027
BANJA LUKA, MAY 22 /SRNA/ - The Acting Director of "Putevi Republike Srpske" Miroslav Janković said that a memorandum on a EUR 40 million loan with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development /EBRD/ has been signed for investment in road infrastructure across Republika Srpska, stressing that numerous capital projects are underway or in preparation from Prijedor to Trebinje.
Janković said that these funds will be invested in road infrastructure throughout the territory of Republika Srpska. "These are funds that we will invest in road infrastructure across the entire territory of Republika Srpska - from Novi Grad to Bijeljina, from Bijeljina to Trebinje", Janković stressed in a SRNA podcast. He noted that EUR 4 million in grant funds have been secured for the preparation of project and planning documentation. "The plan is to complete negotiations with the EBRD in October, which will create conditions for tendering and execution of works. If weather conditions allow, some works will begin this year, otherwise next year", Janković said. Speaking about the new construction season, he said a large number of infrastructure projects are currently underway. He reminded that rehabilitation of the Klašnice-Šargovac main road, that is, the express road from Klašnice to Banja Luka, is continuing. "I expect this to be completed in the next three to four months, meaning by mid-August all works should be finished", Janković said. He added that a tender is expected for the construction of the Prijedor–Novi Grad road, specifically the Prijedor–Dragotinja section, while works on the overpass in Trn are ongoing. Speaking about Herzegovina, Janković said the Trebinje bypass could be fully completed by the end of 2027, noting that preparations are also underway for a third lane on the Ljubinje–Žegulja section. "In terms of Herzegovina, the most significant current project we are working on is the Trebinje city bypass", Janković said in a the SRNA podcast. He noted that the first phase of works will be completed by mid-year, significantly ahead of schedule. Janković also highlighted the construction of a third lane on the Ljubinje–Žegulja section as one of the most important projects. He said tender documentation is being prepared and the tender is expected soon. According to his expectations, works could be completed by the end of 2027. "This year will see intensive earthworks. When I say earthworks, I do not mean soil, but rock mass - hard limestone rock of the fifth and sixth category", Janković stated. The new episode of the SRNA podcast featuring Miroslav Janković, Acting Director of "Putevi Republike Srpske", will be available tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. to users of the service, as well as on social media and the YouTube channel.
