MILOŠ PAROVIĆ FROM NEVESINJE IS THE BEST GUSLE PLAYER OF SRPSKA

PALE, MAY 31 /SRNA/ - Member of the Gusle Society "Nevesinjska puška" from Nevesinje, Miloš Parović, won first place in the individual competition at the Festival of Gusle Players of Republika Srpska in Pale.

In the team competition, first place was won by the Association of Gusle Players and Epic Poets "Tešan Podrugović" from Gacko. The festival of gusle players began with a qualifying audition in which about 60 gusle players participated. Thirty-eight gusle players advanced to the semifinals, as well as 14 from last year's festival, who, based on their previous placement, had the right to direct participation without an audition. After the final competition last night, in which 20 gusle players participated, the expert jury, chaired by ethnomusicologist Zorana Guja Dražeta, announced the best gusle players in the individual and team competitions. Guests of the two-day Festival at the Pale Cultural Center included representatives of gusle societies from Serbia and Montenegro.
