QUALIFYING MATCHES FOR ITF J30 TOURNAMENT UNDERWAY

DOBOJ, JUNE 20 /SRNA/ – Qualifying matches for the ITF J30 junior tournament for players under 18 begin today in Doboj, with around 170 competitors from 28 countries taking part.

The tournament is hosted by the Tennis Club Doboj. Its representative, Dragan Dragičević, said that the event awards ITF ranking points. He noted that, in addition to participants from countries in the region, players are arriving from China, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Iran, Brazil, Australia, and the United States. Dragičević says the main draw matches will begin on Monday, June 22, when the official opening ceremony is also scheduled to take place at 6:00 p.m. “Players from the Doboj club are also competing in the tournament – Nikša Smiljanić, Filip Jevtić, Danijal Meškić, and Nikolina Kovačević,” Dragičević said, adding that the tournament will run until June 27. The Tennis Club Doboj is hosting four international tennis tournaments this year: the ITF M15 Futures tournament, which was held in May; the ITF J30 junior tournament for players under 18; the Tennis Europe tournament, the Ljubiša Miladinović Memorial for competitors under 16; and the Regional Veterans Championship, the Milenko Panić Memorial.
