UNCLEAR WHETHER VANDALS WHO DAMAGED SERB GRAVESTONES IN SERB CEMETERY HAVE BEEN FOUND

SARAJEVO, JUNE 21 /SRNA/ – The Committee protecting Serbs’ rights in FBiH stated that a year has passed since gravestones at the Serb Orthodox cemetery in Kovačići near Kladanj were damaged for the second time, but it remains unclear whether the perpetrators have been identified or anyone punished.

Orthodox gravestones in Kovačići were first vandalized in May 2024, and the second incident occurred in June of the following year. The Committee asked authorities in Tuzla and Sarajevo whether they have identified those who desecrated the Serb Orthodox cemetery in Kovačići near Kladanj in 2024 and 2025. “What have you done to find the perpetrators? Have you arrested anyone, placed anyone in detention, or convicted anyone?” the Committee asked.
