ANĐELKOVIĆ: GOOD RELATIONS WITH ISRAEL STRENGHTEN SRPSKA'S INTERNATIONAL POSITION

BELGRADE, JUNE 23 /SRNA/ - Good relations with Israel, which has significant influence on Washington's policy, are very important for Republika Srpska, and acceptance of Republika Srpska as a partner strengthens its international position, political analyst Dragomir Anđelković told SRNA.

"It is very important for Republika Srpska to have good relations with Israel and for the political elite there to understand its positions, and to recognize that Republika Srpska can be a partner and has an entirely well-intentioned attitude toward Israel," Anđelković said. He stressed that such relations strengthen Republika Srpska's international position and, in circumstances of an Euro-Atlantic rift between Europe and the United States, help Republika Srpska gain Western partners who would support it despite pressure from European power centers. The Serb member of the Presidency of BiH Željka Cvijanović is on a multi-day visit to Israel during which she met with top state officials and attended significant international events.
