ŽUPLJANIN: ORDER OF THE KARAĐORĐE STAR - RECOGNITION FOR ALL WHO CREATED SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA, JUNE 28 /SRNA/ – Head of the Organisation of Republika Srpska Army Senior Officers Slobodan Župljanin said that the Order of the Karađorđe Star, First Class, awarded to him by Republika Srpska President Siniša Karan, is a collective recognition for everyone who contributed to the creation and preservation of Republika Srpska.

"It means a great deal that the sacrifices and achievements of the soldiers and officers of the Republika Srpska Army in creating Republika Srpska, and today in preserving its freedom, are remembered and recognised," Župljanin told SRNA. He stressed that it is particularly significant that the decorations are being awarded on the occasion of Vidovdan. "The order further obliges us to make even greater efforts to expand and strengthen the patriotic front dedicated to preserving Srpska. This is also an opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has led Republika Srpska from its establishment to the present day," Župljanin said. As he emphasized, this is also an opportunity to reaffirm the unconditional pledge that Republika Srpska will never be given away, sold or surrendered to anyone, because without it there is neither freedom nor survival for the Serb people in these lands. "That is why every opportunity should be used to remember the strong and brilliant Army of Republika Srpska, which together with the Serb people created Republika Srpska, and which we must all protect," Župljanin stressed. On the occasion of Vidovdan, Republika Srpska President Siniša Karan awarded decorations to individuals and units of the Republika Srpska Army for merits earned in the creation, defence and liberation of the Republic, as well as for distinguished public service and personal achievements contributing to social and political development and the overall affirmation of Republika Srpska.
