BANJA LUKA, JULY 6 /SRNA/ - The Speaker of the National Assembly Nenad Stevandić said that a special session of the Republika Srpska Parliament will be held tomorrow, at which lawmakers will vote on the veto of Serb member of the Presidency Željka Cvijanović regarding the decision of Presidency Chairman Denis Bećirović on the appointment of members of the Commission to Preserve National Monuments of BiH.

He said that within the 40th special session, a declaration on the protection of the vital national interest of the Serb people in BiH will also be considered, proposed by the Veterans' Organization of Republika Srpska and the Creators of Republika Srpska Association. Stevandić said that the agenda of the 39th special session will be supplemented with a bill on amendments to the Criminal Code of Republika Srpska, introducing two new criminal offences: public promotion and glorification of Ustashe ideology and the NDH, as well as the public display and promotion of flags and symbols of the so-called Army of BiH, along with a bill on amendments to the Law on Cemeteries and Funeral Services. He said after the Collegium session that, under urgent procedure, lawmakers will also consider a draft law on amendments to the Law on Rights of Veterans, War Invalids and Families of Fallen Soldiers of the Republika Srpska Defensive-Patriotic War, as well as amendments to the Law on Renewable Energy Sources. The 40th special session of the National Assembly will be held tomorrow in Banja Luka, beginning at 10:00, and will be followed by the 39th special session. Serb member of the Presidency of BiH, Željka Cvijanović, put a veto against the decision on the appointment of members of the Commission to Preserve National Monuments of BiH, declaring it destructive to the vital national interest of Republika Srpska after it was adopted at a Presidency session held without a quorum. She said that the National Assembly of Republika Srpska will have the final say on this decision, that the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Denis Bećirović, who proposed the decision, acted unlawfully, and that constitutional and procedural rules were repeatedly violated during the Presidency session.
