IOC TEMPORARILY RESTORES RUSSIAN OLYMPIC COMMITTEE'S MEMBERSHIP
MOSCOW, JULY 7 /SRNA-RIA Novosti/ – The Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee /IOC/ has announced its decision to temporarily reinstate the Russian Olympic Committee's membership in the organization.
"The Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee has temporarily lifted the suspension of the Russian Olympic Committee, which had been in effect since October 12, 2023," the IOC said in a statement. The Committee also said it had lifted sanctions on Russian athletes at all competitions under its jurisdiction. "The IOC will make a decision at an appropriate time regarding the display of the Russian national flag, anthem, national colors or other national symbols at the Olympic Games," the statement added.
