MOSTAR, JULY 8 /SRNA/ - The Federal Ministry of Physical Planning has allocated 130,000 KM for works on the Old Church in Mostar and for the restoration of the Church of St. Basil of Ostrog in Blagaj.

MOSTAR, JULY 8 /SRNA/ - The Federal Ministry of Physical Planning has allocated 130,000 KM for works on the Old Church in Mostar and for the restoration of the Church of St. Basil of Ostrog in Blagaj.

The financial support contracts were signed by the advisor to the Federal Minister Zdravko Buljeta and the head of the Cathedral Church of the Holy Trinity in Mostar, Archpriest-Stavrophor Duško Kojić. An amount of 50,000 KM is allocated for the restoration of the church in Blagaj, and 80,000 KM for works on the Old Church in Mostar. These funds will be used to renovate the roof of the church in Blagaj, while the grounds will be landscaped and moisture issues will be remediated at the Old Church in Mostar. These projects are financed through the Ministry's transfer funds intended for the restoration and protection of national monuments. Archpriest-Stavrophor Duško Kojić stated that this support is of great significance, especially for the church in Blagaj, where attempts have been made for years to resolve the issue of a dilapidated roof. Speaking about cooperation with institutions, Kojić pointed out that he had previously criticized the Government of the Federation of BiH for not participating in the restoration of the Cathedral Church, but he emphasized that they have exceptionally good cooperation with the Ministry of Physical Planning. The Ministry of Physical Planning highlighted that they implement similar projects every year, and that their cooperation with the Serbian Orthodox Church in Mostar is at a high level.
