BEIJING, JULY 10 /SRNA/ - A business seminar dedicated to presenting the investment potential of Republika Srpska and BiH, with a particular focus on promoting the Brod Free Zone, was held in Beijing, organised by the Embassy of BiH in China and the China Overseas Investment Development Association.

The presentation was attended by BiH Ambassador to China Siniša Berjan, who invited representatives of Chinese companies to take part in a study visit to BiH and Republika Srpska, which will be organised in the coming months, as well as in investment and business forums that will be held on that occasion. In his address to representatives of Chinese companies, Berjan presented the main characteristics of BiH as an investment destination, highlighting its strategic geographic location, favourable business environment, competitive investment conditions, skilled workforce, access to regional and European markets, as well as successful examples of Chinese investments in BiH. Director of the Foreign Investment Promotion Sector at the Investment and Development Bank of Republika Srpska Zoran Talić and Mayor of Brod Milan Zečević took part in the seminar via video link, the Embassy of BiH in China said in a statement. Zečević presented the economic and investment potential of this local community, with particular emphasis on the Brod Free Zone, its infrastructure links and favourable geographic location. He stressed the commitment of the local administration to creating a favourable business environment and its readiness to provide full institutional support to foreign investors in the implementation of specific projects. Talić presented investment projects in Republika Srpska in the fields of energy, construction, tourism and the food industry, which attracted significant interest from representatives of Chinese companies. The seminar was held in cooperation with the Investment and Development Bank of Republika Srpska and the Brod Municipality, and brought together more than 70 representatives of Chinese companies, who followed the event in person and via an online platform. The Embassy said that the seminar represents an important step towards further strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries and contributes to promoting the investment potential of Republika Srpska and BiH among the Chinese business community.
