KOŠARAC: POLITICAL SARAJEVO MUST RETHINK ITS APPROACH, TIME FOR NON-DAYTON PRACTICES IS OVER
ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, JULY 15 /SRNA/ - It is high time for political Sarajevo to carefully reconsider its own political ambitions and future steps, given that political relations towards BiH are clearly changing internationally, Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers Staša Košarac stressed in a statement to SRNA.
"The time when Bosniak politics, in partnership with former high representatives and the international factor, worked against Republika Srpska and the interests of the Serb people in BiH has been a time wasted. It is long gone," Košarac emphasized. He said that Bosniak politics would benefit much more from realistically assessing new global political circumstances and changing its political course by turning towards an agreement between the two entities and three constituent peoples in BiH as the only possible solution. They should forget, he pointed out, the distorted, unconstitutional and non-Dayton practice whereby any foreigner can impose laws and decisions, which has been a disruptive factor in BiH all along. "Neither Serbs nor Croats are satisfied with such a situation in BiH, as confirmed by the joint position of the legitimately elected political representatives of these two constituent peoples on the necessity of annulling all decisions made by former high representatives if an agreed path for BiH is to be created," he said. He said domestic actors must assume responsibility, and that decisions must be made by domestic institutions authorized to do so under the Constitution and law. "Republika Srpska has a clear and unequivocal position - it is necessary to ensure the sovereignty of legitimately elected domestic representatives in the decision-making system in accordance with the Constitution, without interference by foreigners and international interventionism. Neither a high representative nor the OHR is needed in BiH," Košarac stated. According to him, the question of adopting a Law on the Constitutional Court of BiH and the departure of foreign judges from this institution remains open. "Bosniak politics must understand and accept this. Otherwise, it will remain on a deserted island," Košarac concluded.
