MINIĆ: ARRIVAL OF U.S. INVESTIGATORS IS ENCOURAGING; EVERY VICTIM DESERVES JUSTICE
BANJA LUKA, JULY 16 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić said that he is encouraged by the arrival of American investigators in Derventa and that the entity's institutions will provide support to witnesses, because every victim deserves justice.
"The arrival of American investigators in Derventa gives me encouragement, and I believe that the testimonies of survivors of the camps and the extensive documentation will finally pave the way for an impartial investigation into crimes committed against the Serb people," Minić said. He stressed that the institutions of Republika Srpska would provide full support to all witnesses. "I personally support Drago Knežević and all survivors of the camps who have persevered for decades in their struggle for truth and justice. The truth must not be selective. Every victim deserves justice, and every crime must be brought to light," Minić wrote on X. Five American investigator-prosecutors are expected to arrive in Derventa on Monday, July 20, to take statements from eight former camp inmates about the horrors they endured in the notorious camp for Serbs at the Rabić military warehouse in 1992. During the Defensive-Patriotic War, before the Army of Republika Srpska had even been formed, Croatian and Muslim forces attacked the local Serb population in Derventa. Camps for Serbs were established, the most notorious of which were those at the Army Hall and the Rabić site. The Rabić camp, established in April 1992, held 120 Serbs, and several hundred Serb civilians passed through the camps in Derventa overall.
