STEVANDIĆ: WE DEMAND SECURITY FOR SERB RETURNEES AND URGENT ACTION AFTER THE ATTACK

BIJELJINA, JULY 19 /SRNA/ - The Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandić, strongly condemned the attack on Serb returnees in Lušci Palanka near Sanski Most and said that an urgent response from the relevant authorities was needed.

"If the federal authorities fail to take rigorous measures such as those Republika Srpska takes to protect Bosniak returnees, those who attack Serbs will sooner or later have to pass through Republika Srpska, where they will have nowhere to hide," Stevandić told reporters in Bijeljina. He stressed that the best solution is for no one to attack anyone. "We guarantee security to other peoples, but we will also demand security for our own people. There will be no negotiations or joking about this; action must be taken immediately," Stevandić said. Republika Srpska Minister of Justice Goran Selak said that three Bosniaks physically attacked Serb returnees Mika Davidović and her husband Željko Matić in Lušci Palanka near Sanski Most. Selak posted a video of the attack on X and said that the attackers were Suvad Bašić, Muharem Bašić, and Hasan Rekić from Fajtovci near Sanski Most.
