AMERICAN INVESTIGATORS PARTICULARLY INTERESTED IN THE SKELIĆ BROTHERS

DERVENTA, JULY 20 /SRNA/ - American investigator-prosecutors will pay the most attention to cases involving brothers Muris and Haris Skelić, who are suspected of war crimes against Serbs in Derventa in 1992, Drago Knežević, president of the Derventa Association of Former Camp Inmates, told SRNA today.

"American investigators are interested in the Skelić brothers, especially because they obtained work permits and visas to reside in the United States based on false statements that they had not taken part in the war," Knežević explained. He recalled that, alongside the Skelić brothers, American investigators are also interested in other individuals suspected of war crimes against Serbs in the Derventa area. This morning, the first person to testify before the American investigators was Dr Željko Stajčić from Derventa, who was detained in the Rabić camp. American investigator-prosecutors arrived in Derventa, where former Serb camp inmates began giving testimony about the horrors they endured in the notorious camp for Serbs at the Rabić military warehouse in 1992. In Derventa, during the past Defensive-Patriotic War, before the Army of Republika Srpska had even been formed, Croatian and Muslim forces attacked the local Serb population. Camps for Serbs were established, the most notorious of which were those at the Army Hall and at the Rabić site.
