HOPE THAT CRIMES AGAINST SERBS WILL COME TO LIGHT AFTER THE ARRIVAL OF AMERICAN INVESTIGATORS
SREBRENICA, JULY 20 /SRNA/ - President of the Organization of Families of Captured and Killed Soldiers and Missing Civilians from Srebrenica, Branimir Kojić, expressed hope that the arrival of American investigator-prosecutors would finally bring crimes against the Serb people to light, adding that he was confident Derventa would not be the only place where they would conduct their work.
Kojić told SRNA that American investigators should also be familiarized with the Report of the Independent Commission established by the Government of Republika Srpska on the events in the Srebrenica and Sarajevo regions, and that it should serve as a starting point for further work to finally remove the stigma from the Serb people for something they are not responsible for. He stressed that it is important to use this opportunity so that the world can see the scale of Serb suffering. He expressed confidence that Derventa would not be the only place where they would work, but that their activities would cover the whole of BiH and that other countries would also become involved so that the truth could finally come to light. Kojić said he was convinced that the new US administration was aware that everything its predecessors had done was to the detriment of Serb victims and to rewrite history. "We know that, for example, detainees from the notorious Silos camp were relocated from these areas to the United States, Australia and Canada so that they would not be in a position to speak about what they had endured," he recalled. American investigator-prosecutors arrived in Derventa, where former Serb camp detainees began testifying about the horrors they suffered in the notorious camp for Serbs at the Rabić military warehouse in 1992.
