MINIĆ: PEOPLE OF KRAJINA AMONG BIGGEST SERB VICTIMS OF 20TH CENTURY

BANJA LUKA, JULY 21 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić said that the people of Krajina are among the biggest Serb victims of the twentieth century, which is why today's Government decision to declare August 4 a Day of Mourning in Republika Srpska is the least that can be done for them.

"I am aware that today's Government decision is not 'popular' and that many parties and entertainment events will be postponed. However, when I assumed the position of Prime Minister, I promised to do everything to restore a grain of dignity to every Serb fighter and victim," Minić wrote on the X social network. He added that this is why August 4 was declared a Day of Mourning. The Republika Srpska Government declared August 4 a Day of Mourning in Srpska, on the occasion of marking the Day of Remembrance of the killed and exiled Serbs in the Croatian military-police operation "Storm", during which more than 220,000 Serbs were expelled from the areas of Banija, Lika, Kordun, and northern Dalmatia. According to the data of the "Veritas" Documentation and Information Center, more than 220,000 Serbs were expelled during "Storm", and the records contain the names of 1,903 killed and missing Serbs from the operation and its aftermath, of whom 1,247 were civilians or 66 percent, while about three-quarters were over 60 years old.
