POLISH NATIONAL KILLED

BERLIN, JULY 27 /SRNA/ - A Polish national was killed in an attack in Berlin on Saturday, July 25, Berlin Mayor Kai Wegner said.

Addressing a Polish diplomat at the opening of an exhibition on the 1944 Warsaw Uprising at Berlin City Hall, Wegner said that the attack was motivated by hatred. "I am deeply moved by what happened on Saturday, and my thoughts are with you and, above all, with the daughter and family of the murdered woman," the Mayor of Berlin said. Poland's Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the woman killed in Berlin was Polish. The attack took place on Saturday, July 25, when Islamist extremist Abdul Balut /21/ drove a vehicle into a crowd during a gay pride parade in central Berlin. He was later killed in a confrontation with police. The attack left 29 people injured, Deutsche Welle reported.
