EUROPEAN TROOPS IN UKRAINE WOULD CONSTITUTE FOREIGN INTERVENTION

NEW YORK, JULY 27 /SRNA – RIA Novosti/ - The possible deployment of military contingents from European countries to Ukraine would constitute foreign intervention in the conflict for Russia, and Moscow would consider them legitimate targets, Russia's Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Anna Evstigneeva said.

"Let us look at the results of the 15th meeting of the so-called Coalition of the Willing, held in Paris on July 13 under the co-chairmanship of France and the United Kingdom. The content of the final document directly states that multinational forces will have to restore the capabilities of Ukraine's armed forces," Evstigneeva said during a UN Security Council session on Ukraine. She warned the European members of the Coalition of the Willing that deploying military contingents from those countries to Ukrainian territory would constitute foreign intervention, posing a direct threat to Russia's security. She also pointed out that between July 17 and 20, several tankers were deliberately attacked at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium's marine terminal near Novorossiysk. "The complicity and involvement of Western countries in these terrorist attacks is beyond any doubt," Evstigneeva warned.
