SENATE RECEIVES ASSESSMENT OF RONALD JOHNSON'S COMPETENCE FOR AMBASSADOR TO BiH

WASHINGTON, JULY 28 /SRNA/ - The US Senate Foreign Relations Committee has received a report, namely a Certificate of Demonstrated Competence for Ronald Johnson, Nominee for Ambassador to BiH.

WASHINGTON, JULY 28 /SRNA/ - The US Senate Foreign Relations Committee has received a report, namely a Certificate of Demonstrated Competence for Ronald Johnson, Nominee for Ambassador to BiH.



"Thanks to his extensive and proven leadership experience, demonstrated diplomatic skills, international engagement and lifelong service to the United States, Johnson is exceptionally qualified to serve as US Ambassador to BiH," the report stated. It was emphasised that Johnson is a distinguished military leader, international security expert and strategic adviser with more than four decades of extensive professional experience. The report noted that he retired with the rank of brigadier general after serving in the US Marine Corps from 1975 to 2010, and that during his military career he held operational positions across the Middle East, Europe, the Caribbean and Central Asia. It added that he led combat and crisis operations, including the evacuation of US citizens from Beirut, Lebanon. The report stated that Johnson made a significant contribution to strengthening military cooperation and security partnerships with regional partners, serving as a UN military observer in Lebanon and the Sinai, as well as an adviser to the Central Asian Peacekeeping Battalion. After retiring in 2010, he founded Mares Associates, a consulting firm specialising in international security cooperation, defense modernisation and strategic advisory services, the report explained. His current work is focused on strengthening bilateral relations, advancing US interests and promoting cooperation between partner countries and the United States. The report also noted that he earned a degree in management from Franklin Pierce College and completed advanced professional military education programmes.
