HELICOPTER DEPLOYED TO FIGHT FIRE IN NEVESINJE

NEVESINJE, AUGUST 13 /SRNA/ – A helicopter operated by the Directorate of Aviation of the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska is battling a wildfire in the Nevesinje area, while the situation at the fire site is difficult, Nevesinje Fire Brigade Commander Miroslav Jonlija said in a statement to SRNA.

The situation is particularly difficult in the inaccessible area around the village of Humčana, where Nevesinje firefighters are also working to prevent the fire from spreading, while strong winds are making firefighting efforts more difficult, Nevesinje Fire Brigade Commander Miroslav Jonlija told SRNA. He added that firefighters were also battling another front of the fire towards Pridvorci. Due to fires that have affected several villages in the Nevesinje area, a state of emergency was declared in part of the municipality last night.
