LYON, SEPTEMBER 4 /SRNA/ - The Disciplinary Committee of the Union of European Football Associations /UEFA/ has fined Red Star EUR 98,250 and banned the club from selling tickets for its next away match in European competitions due to the behaviour of the team and its fans during the away match against Viktoria in Plzeň in the Europa League qualifiers.

UEFA said that, due to the "racist" behaviour of the fans, it activated a suspended sanction from April 9, 2025, banning Red Star from selling tickets for its next away match in European competitions. In addition, the Belgrade football club was fined EUR 40,000 and given a new two-year suspended ban on selling tickets for its next away match. The statement added that Red Star was fined EUR 50,000 for displaying a message inappropriate for a sporting event and EUR 8,250 for improper conduct by the team. Red Star player Osman Bukari has been suspended for three matches in UEFA club competitions in which he would otherwise have been eligible to play, due to a physical attack on another player. Red Star lost 5-1 to Viktoria on August 27 after extra time in the Europa League qualifying play-off. Red Star will visit Lugano on October 15 in the first round of the Conference League.
