RADANOVIĆ: 60 TO 70 ATTACKS ON SERBS OR THEIR PROPERTY IN FBiH EACH YEAR

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 11 /SRNA/ – Đorđe Radanović, head of the Committee protecting Serbs’ rights in the FBiH, said that between 60 and 70 attacks on Serbs or their property occur annually in that entity, noting that the problem is that such cases are most often not prosecuted.

"Everything is duly reported, but the problem is that we receive no feedback from the police or prosecutors' offices in the FBiH. We have no information on whether the police filed a criminal or misdemeanor report, or whether the prosecutor's office brought charges," Radanović said in a podcast by the Republika Srpska Media System – SRNA. He said that when they report that a cemetery has been damaged or desecrated and explain everything to the police, an atmosphere is created in which it ends up appearing as though the Serbs themselves destroyed their own cemeteries. Regarding the recent attack on Serbs in the Sarajevo settlement of Vogošća, Radanović said that the suspects had been released and were freely walking around Sarajevo, while the elderly people who were attacked feared for their lives. Commenting on the fact that the number of Serbs living in the FBiH continues to decline, Radanović said that, according to information gathered by the Committee, between 25,000 and 30,000 people of Serb background currently live in that entity. "Bosniaks say that they have been `systematically destroyed` in Republika Srpska, yet according to the 2013 census, there were 170,000 of them, while there were 55,000 Serbs in the FBiH. According to the 1991 census, 541,000 Serbs lived in the FBiH, while there were 440,000 Bosniaks in what is now Republika Srpska. According to the information we are collecting, between 25,000 and 30,000 Serbs currently live in the FBiH," Radanović stressed. Asked how important the support of Republika Srpska is for Serbs in the FBiH, Radanović said that it is of crucial importance. "You are not aware of how important the assistance of one million BAM from Republika Srpska is for Drvar, Grahovo, Glamoč and Bosanski Petrovac. Without the assistance of Republika Srpska, these four municipalities would not survive," he stressed. A new episode of the SRNA podcast, featuring Đorđe Radanović, head of the Committee protecting Serbs' rights in the FBiH, will be available tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. to users of SRNA's service, as well as on social media and its YouTube channel.
