KOŠARAC: ISTOČNO SARAJEVO - THE STRONGEST SYMBOL OF STRUGGLE FOR FREEDOM

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, SEPTEMBER 17 /SRNA/ – Staša Košarac, Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers, congratulated Mayor Ljubiša Ćosić on City Day and the patron saint's day - St. Peter of Dabar-Bosnia, emphasizing that Istočno Sarajevo is one of the strongest symbols of the struggle for freedom, survival and Republika Srpska.

"This city did not come into being by chance - it was built by people who, following the exodus from Sarajevo, had the strength, will, and desire to rebuild their homes, their hearths, and their future," Košarac stressed. That is why Istočno Sarajevo, Košarac pointed out, is much more than an administrative and urban center. "Our city is a testament to the fact that the Serb people defend their right to life, freedom and dignity and that they do not give up their ancestral homes," Košarac emphasized. He said that Istočno Sarajevo is today a modern, developed, and promising city, a source of pride for its citizens and one of the important pillars of Republika Srpska. Košarac said that the development and progress of Istočno Sarajevo are the best evidence of what can be achieved when there is responsible governance and strong support from the institutions of Republika Srpska. "We are proud of Istočno Sarajevo because we know how much effort, sacrifice and love have been invested in every one of its successes. Happy City Day and happy patron saint's day to all the citizens of Istočno Sarajevo," Košarac said in a message posted on Instagram.
