BOSNIĆ: USTASHA PROVOCATIONS OUTSIDE VELJKO DŽAKULA'S HOME SHOULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED
BELGRADE, SEPTEMBER 21 /SRNA/ - The gathering of Croats carrying Ustasha insignia, playing Thompson songs and making anti-Serb statements outside the home of Veljko Džakula, former president of the Serbian Democratic Forum, in Pakrac, in the presence of police, points to the values upheld by European Croatia, president of the Movement of Krajina Serbs Mile Bosnić told SRNA.
"When they do this to Džakula, who is well known in European circles, imagine how other Serbs feel. What is left for them to do but deactivate their Facebook profiles because they end up in prison when they post pictures of their children wearing Šajkača caps or when they wish people a Happy Christmas Eve and Christmas, or to become invisible or become Croats? It is terrible what they are doing in the 21st century," Bosnić said. Bosnić questioned why Dražen Keleminac, who shares anti-Serb content on social media, including a "slaughterhouse-style performance" outside Džakula's family home in Pakrac, with police present, did not go to Pakračka Poljana, where at least 300 Serb civilians were killed in 1991 and 1992 under the command of Tomislav Merčep, to pay his respects. "The world and Europe are remaining silent on all this. This represents a trampling of human dignity and the instilling of fear," Bosnić said. He reiterated that the laws in Croatia apply only to Serbs, while Croats are above the law. "Their laws can very easily put Serbs in prison, fine them and ban them from entering the country for all sorts of things, while the police protect those who display banned symbols and glorify the Ustasha regime. Instead of arresting them, the police protect them," Bosnić concluded. A group of Croats who describe themselves as patriots staged a performance featuring Ustasha flags and Thompson's song "Bojna Čavoglave" outside the home of Veljko Džakula in Pakrac. Using a megaphone, they called on Džakula to come outside, which he briefly did, amid a barrage of accusations against him, as well as against Serbs and the Serbian Orthodox Church. Among the messages were calls for the Saint Sava Orthodox Church to be eradicated.
