DODIK: GLAD TO WELCOME METROPOLITAN LUKIJAN TO SRPSKA
BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 20 /SRNA/ – President Milorad Dodik welcomed His Eminence Metropolitan Lukijan of Buda, who, he said, has devoted nearly a quarter of a century to preserving the Orthodox faith and the national identity of Serbs in Hungary.
"I am glad that we have welcomed Metropolitan Lukijan to Republika Srpska. For nearly a quarter of a century, he has worked tirelessly to preserve the Orthodox faith, Serbian traditions and the national identity of our people in Hungary," Dodik wrote on X. He said he particularly valued the metropolitan's dedication to restoring churches and monasteries, preserving the Serbian language and customs, and strengthening the Serb community. Dodik noted that Serbs in Hungary have a rich history and stressed the importance of ensuring that younger generations do not forget their roots. "Republika Srpska will always stand by our Church and our people, wherever they live, because faith, tradition and national unity are what have sustained us through the centuries," Dodik stressed.
