REVIEW PRESIDENCY RELATIONS AND DIPLOMATIC POSTS RIGHT AFTER INAUGURATION

BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 4 /SRNA/ – The three members of the BiH Presidency will be inaugurated on November 16, after which the Serb side will immediately seek a detailed review of relations within the Presidency and of the distribution of posts in diplomatic and consular missions, since most ambassadors' terms have expired or are about to, Serb Presidency member Željka Cvijanović said.

Cvijanović said she would think carefully about whom to approve for diplomatic and consular posts. She said Denis Bećirović and Zlatko Lagumdžija were creating a false picture when they spoke on behalf of BiH at the UN Security Council. She explained that they should speak there on the basis of an agreed position, meaning a platform adopted by the Presidency at one of its sessions, but that this has not happened for years and there is no consensus to adopt one. "No one has the right to speak on behalf of BiH unless all three members of the Presidency have agreed on the position. You could never have heard anything like that from me, anywhere," Cvijanović told RTRS. Asked what would be said at the Security Council once she becomes chair of the Presidency, she said that wherever she goes she says she is a member of the BiH Presidency who comes from Republika Srpska, and that she speaks not on the basis of an agreed platform but presents the position of Republika Srpska, which she represents. She said the problem is not when a Presidency member works in the interest of one people, but when they work against the other two. "The bottom line is that the three members have different views of the past, the present and the future. It has always been two against one, against Republika Srpska, on many issues. We'll see how it goes now," Cvijanović said.
