TALKS HELD ON SOUTHERN INTERCONNECTION

The meeting also addressed the importance of continuous and constructive cooperation among all levels of government to ensure concrete results and accelerate the project's implementation. The meeting, attended by Serb member Željka Cvijanović, as well as members Željko Komšić and Denis Bećirović, was a continuation of discussions on the Southern Interconnection project, an initiative launched with US support, the BiH Presidency said in a statement. It was emphasized that the Southern Interconnection is a strategic infrastructure project that enables energy diversification, contributes to energy stability, and strengthens connections with the European energy market. The statement noted that Presidency members were informed about the project in terms of construction timelines, pipeline capacity, and the legal procedures required to begin implementation. They were also briefed on the project's benefits for employment, economic growth, improved energy security, and the attraction of foreign investment. Ginkel and representatives of AAFS Infrastructure and Energy LLC thanked the BiH Presidency members for the opportunity to present the importance of joint work on this infrastructure and energy project.
