MINIĆ: FREEDOM AND UNITY SHOULD BE LASTING MESSAGE
BELGRADE, SEPTEMBER 16 /SRNA/ –Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić has officially opened the Days of Srpska in Serbia event in Belgrade this evening, saying that its slogan, “Inspired by freedom, guided by unity,” should be a lasting message.
Minić stressed the importance of working toward creating a unified homeland space, without being obliged to justify ourselves to anyone. “We must show that our being together is not a threat to anyone, but call for cooperation,” Minić said in an address at the National Theatre in Belgrade. He pointed out that every day is a day of Republika Srpska in Serbia, and vice versa, and that the event should further inspire everyone and indicate what needs to be done. “As a people, we are ready to make sacrifices, but we can also be careless and gullible. We need a little more self-respect, not only so that we can be together and feel stronger, but that we can encourage and support one another,” Minić said. He noted that the flags and anthems of Serbia and Republika Srpska are the flags and anthems of one people, adding that someone has persistently tried to divide the Serb people. “We should use this time and understand that we need to work and cooperate more in order for future generations to have better education, workers to have jobs, us to raise living standards, young people to remain in their homeland with us being able to support them,” Minić said. He expressed his belief that everything presidents Aleksandar Vučić and Milorad Dodik have done so far was only the beginning of cooperation, which extends beyond culture and tradition. “We must never again allow ourselves not to be one. There are no courts or foreign agitators who will teach our children history; there is no court that will frighten us into understanding how important it is for us to be together at this moment,” Minić said. He stressed that it must be understood that Republika Srpska has Serbia, and Serbia has Republika Srpska.
