SRPSKA IS MEASURE OF FREEDOM

BANJALUKA, JANUARY 9 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Senator Aleksandar Vulin told SRNA that January 9, Republika Srpska Day, is a holiday of all Serbs regardless of where they live because Srpska is a measure of Serbian freedom and a measure of the future of the Serbian people.

"Whenever you hear criticism of and attacks on Republika Srpska, you should know that it is not Republika Srpska that is being attacked, but the idea of united Serbs. This generation has every reason to realize the dream of the insurgent Karađorđe and create a united Serbian state," said Vulin. He emphasized that Republika Srpska is the pride of all Serbs, regardless of where they live, and will exist to the extent that it is free. Vulin reiterated that January 9 chose the Serbs and that the decision to declare the Republic of the Serbian people in BiH in 1992 was not an action, but a reaction to the brutal violation of the rights of the Serbian people in BiH at that time. Republika Srpska is celebrating Republic Day and 32 years of existence. January 9 is celebrated as the Day of Republika Srpska because it was on that date in 1992 that the Republic of the Serbian People in BiH was established under its original name. Srpska was founded by Serb members of the then Assembly of BiH after they were outvoted on key issues about the survival of Yugoslavia, and members of the other two nations started a secession against the will of the Serbs, who had the status of a constituent nation.
