VIDOVIĆ: AMERICA CARRYING OUT VIOLENCE AIMED AT DESTROYING SRPSKA

EAST SARAJEVO, MARCH 27 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Finance Minister Zora Vidović said today that by putting pressure on banks in Srpska in connection with bank accounts of individuals and legal entities who are on the "black list" of the United States, the American administration is carrying out violence aimed at destroying the economy of Republika Srpska and Republika Srpska itself.

Vidović has said that, according to her knowledge, banks operating in Srpska are requested by the US administration to close bank accounts of all individuals and legal entities who are on the list of the Office of Foreign Assets Control /OFAC/ of the US Department of the Treasury. "According to the Law on Banks of Republika Srpska, everyone has the right to have a bank account and it is their basic human right to be able to receive a salary, any of their income and to be able to support themselves and their family, which is being denied," Vidović told SRNA. She explained that banks are not essentially prevented from keeping these accounts, but that in that case their SWIFTs will be canceled, and correspondence with other banks will be terminated, which means that these banks cannot operate outside Srpska and that they are under sanctions. "And that means the destruction of the complete economic system of Republika Srpska, which no one can allow," Vidović said. According to her, this is why persons from Srpska on OFAC's list voluntarily signed to close their accounts so that the banks would not come under sanctions and the economy would not be shut down. "It is unheard of and unimaginable that in the 21st century, someone does not have the basic right to have a bank account to receive a salary," Vidović pointed out and added that this is not about law, but about force whose goal is to destroy the entire economy of Srpska, that is, Republika Srpska. Vidović has said that all obligations projected by the Republika Srpska budget will be met.
