FILA: DISASSOCIATION OF BiH POSSIBLE UNDER DAYTON AGREEMENT

BELGRADE, MAY 24 /SRNA/ - Lawyer Toma Fila stated that peaceful separation is not the same as secession and that according to the Dayton Peace Accords, separation in Bosnia and Herzegovina is possible if everyone accepts it, and that the latest statement by the US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a threat to Republika Srpska in a world where international law no longer exists.

Fila assessed that America wants to use the call for peaceful parting as well as the resolution on Srebrenica to destroy Republika Srpska, indicating that the peaceful parting proposed by Republika Srpska is not the same as secession. He stated that the president of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, sensed correctly and in time that the goal of the resolution was the destruction of Republika Srpska and announced that the Government of Srpska would seek dissolution. According to him, America wants to use that to destroy Republika Srpska, because of the situation in Kosovo and Metohija. Stressing that the latest announcement of the American Embassy in BiH is a threat to Republika Srpska, Fila said that international law no longer existed. "I saw it back in 1996 and told everyone that. International law no longer exists - there is the right of the strongest. If America judges that it is stronger, then it will declare whatever it wants, including a unitary BiH where Bosniaks will be in the majority and Serbs in the minority and then it will be like that. The same recipe as for Kosovo," Fila concluded. The US Embassy announced that the secession or "parting" of Republika Srpska does not mean its independence or the end of BiH, but the end of Republika Srpska.
