ŠULIĆ: SRPSKA IS ETERNAL
BANJA LUKA, JANUARY 3 /SRNA/ - The Republika Srpska Minister of Trade and Tourism, Denis Šulić, wished all citizens a happy Republic Day, January 9, saying that Srpska is eternal and that it will outlive all those who presented themselves as diplomats but came here with the intention of disciplining it.
Šulić told SRNA that the doors of Republika Srpska are open to all friendly countries when it comes to commemorating important dates. "I am certain that those who are attacking us now will, at some point in the future, realize their mistake and join us in the celebrations of January 9. Srpska has outlived and will continue to outlive all those individuals who presented themselves as diplomats but came here with the intention of disciplining Srpska. They have gone into history, but Srpska remains," Šulić said. He believes that one day diplomats will come to realize that they are transient, while Republika Srpska is eternal, and that they will join Srpska in celebrating January 9. Šulić said that the greater the pressure to ban the celebration of Republic Day – January 9, the greater the love and determination of all citizens of Srpska to celebrate this holiday. "Republika Srpska and its citizens celebrate January 9 because it is the day Republika Srpska was founded. It is the day we chose freedom, peace, and prosperity, and no one will ever be able to prevent the citizens and institutions of Srpska from marking this most important day for us," Šulić said. He emphasized that January 9 is a day for gathering and summing up the achievements of Republika Srpska. "It is the day when we make plans for the future, forge plans about where we want to see Srpska in the coming year," Šulić said. He wished everyone in Republika Srpska a happy upcoming holiday. "I would like to wish all the citizens of Republika Srpska, and especially the President of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, a happy January 9," Šulić said. Republika Srpska will celebrate January 9, Republic Day, and mark its 33 years of existence. January 9 is celebrated as the Day of Republika Srpska because it marks the date in 1992 when it was established under the original name of the Serbian Republic of BiH. It was founded by Serbian representatives in the then Parliament of BiH after they were outvoted on key issues regarding the survival of Yugoslavia and members of the other two peoples began secession, disregarding the will of the Serbs, who had a status of a constituent people.
