At the first session, the senators discussed issues of particular importance for the national development of Srpska, and provided strong support to the leadership of Republika Srpska in their work to defend the constitutional position of Srpska and advocate for the preservation of peace. The session of the Senate, which is the advisory body of the highest constitutional institutions of Republika Srpska, was held as part of the celebration of January 9 - the Day of Republika Srpska, and was presided over by the Vice-President of the Senate, Serb member and Chairperson of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović. At the session, the newly appointed senators took the oath, the Senate of Republika Srpska was constituted, and the decisions on the appointment of members of the Senate were delivered, the Cabinet of the President of Republika Srpska announced. The session was attended by the Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska Nenad Stevandić, the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Radovan Višković and the Chairperson of the Council of Peoples of Republika Srpska, Srebrenka Golić.
