MAZALICA: PROPERTY IS KEY, BOSNIAKS WITH THE HELP OF SCHMIDT WANT TO TRANSFER IT TO BiH LEVEL
BANJA LUKA, MARCH 29 /SRNA/ - Head of the SNSD Deputies Club in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Srđan Mazalica, told SRNA that property is key for Srpska to be able to attract foreign investments, which is foreseen by the Constitution, but that the Bosniaks, with the help of Christian Schmidt are trying to problematize this issue and transfer competences to the BiH level.
"The Constitution is clear and states that Republika Srpska regulates property-legal relations. It is harmonized with the Constitution of BiH," Mazalica said in the SRNA podcast. He stated that foreign investments are visible in Republika Srpska, which can be seen from the requests of businessmen for connection to the electricity network and pointed out that it is necessary to adequately respond to the demands of the market. "That's why it's important to dispose of property, so that we can attract foreign investments," Mazalica said. He explains that this issue has become relevant again and that the desire of Bosniaks for the unitization of BiH has never been put out. "The Constitutional Court of BiH has started making decisions challenging Republika Srpska's right to manage property, forests, agricultural land and others," Mazalica pointed out. He says that the president of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, was making moves to prevent Sarajevo's attempt to take over the property. "Republika Srpska without property remains an empty shell, as President Dodik says, but that would really be the case," warned Mazalica. He says that in the past, Sarajevo blocked numerous infrastructure projects in Republika Srpska, which would have benefited the FBiH as well, such as the construction of gas power plants. "If we want to shut down thermal power plants, we have to replace them with other sources. Gas power plants are better because they easily enter and leave the grid. They would be more competitive on the market," Mazalica pointed out in the SRNA podcast. He said that Sarajevo is blocking such projects and shows its readiness to accept liquefied gas, which is much more expensive. In the SRNA podcast Mazalica reminded that the American ambassador joins the session of the FBiH Parliament live and tells the MPs what to do. "It shows how crazy everything is and how much we are suffering now because of such politics. We are suffering because someone is blocking our projects," emphasized Mazalica. On the other hand, he states, Republika Srpska and President Milorad Dodik have never blocked projects in FBiH. "Everyone who gets into a position looks to push their policy of blocking. These are not people who say to build as many power plants, highways, bridges and attract as many investors as possible," Mazalica pointed out. BOSNIAK POLITICIANS HAVE NO OPPOSITION WHEN IT COMES TO DESIRES FOR UNITARY BiH The head of the Club of SNSD deputies in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Srđan Mazalica, stated that Bosniak politicians have no opposition among themselves when it comes to their basic interests, stressing that such an interest is also the desire for a unitary BiH. "All parties think the same. It will be very difficult to find a political elite that will state that the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Prosecutor's Office, Sipa are not functioning in half of the country. This country is falling apart, let's sit down and talk to Dodik and see what we will do," says Mazalica. He said that there is no desire to talk in the FBiH, despite the fact that Republika Srpska has an outstretched hand. "We have support for everything we do in the Constitution. We do not go into anything that is not in the Constitution," said Mazalica. He added that Republika Srpska is solely responsible for respecting the law and the Constitution. "We are protected by procedures, law and the Dayton Agreement. There is a difference between Sarajevo's politics and what we are doing," Mazalica concluded.
