BiH’S PARTNERS SHOULD SUPPORT CONSISTENT IMPLEMENTATION OF THE DAYTON AND DIALOGUE

BANJA LUKA, MAY 6 /SRNA/ - BiH's partners from the international community should support the consistent implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, including clearly prescribed limits on the terms of office for the high representative and the federal and consociational structure of BiH, reads the conclusion of the 33rd Republika Srpska’s Report to the UN Security Council.
The document adds that BiH partners should support the constructive dialogue of the leading political parties in BiH with the aim of overcoming the current crisis. "Despite the current political crisis, Republika Srpska believes that BiH still has a chance to succeed, if all politicians, both in BiH and abroad, respect the Dayton Peace Agreement," says the Report adopted by the Srpska Government. The conclusion adds that the first step towards that goal is for the leading politicians in BiH to sit down and talk directly, instead of exchanging volleys of increasingly incendiary rhetoric. The text emphasizes that Republika Srpska is ready for serious negotiations with partners in BiH and expresses the hope that they will soon join these talks in the interest of BiH and all its citizens. The UN Security Council will hold a semi-annual debate on the situation in BiH today in New York.
