GAS THE GREATEST OPPORTUNITY, SERIOUS ENDEAVOR FOR SRPSKA
ŠEKOVIĆI, JUNE 15 /SRNA/ - The general director of Sarajevo-Gas Company, Nedeljko Elek, has stated today that the construction of a gas pipeline of just under 50 kilometers is a serious undertaking for any country in the world, especially for the small Republika Srpska, which today is launching the construction of gas pipeline in +its eastern region using its own resources.
“Gas is currently the greatest development opportunity. I hope this will create conditions for attracting investors and launching new projects,” Elek said during the ceremony marking the official beginning of the construction of gas pipeline in eastern Republika Srpska. He has emphasized that Republika Srpska offers the best gas prices, and noted that without those prices, many companies in the Federation of BiH would not be able to operate. He expressed hope that one day they would thank the President of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, for that. “I hope to see you in Banja Luka in two years,” Elek stated during his address at the Jakovice transceiver station in Šekovići. Elek thanked everyone present - President Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister Radovan Višković, the line minister, and the Russian ambassador - without whom, as he said, none of this would be possible. He also thanked all local communities that passed key decisions enabling the start of the works. He pointed out that Minister Petar Đokić was involved every day, that Prime Minister Višković was there from the beginning, and expressed deep gratitude, above all, to President Dodik. The official launch of works is taking place today at the site of the main gas pipeline Šekovići–Vlasenica–Milići, including a branch route Vlasenica–Igrišta–Han Pijesak. The construction of this 48-kilometer-long main gas pipeline, valued at approximately BAM 74 million, is one of the most important strategic projects of the gas system in Republika Srpska.
