DODIK: I WILL RUN IN UPCOMING ELECTIONS AND BELIEVE IN VICTORY

BANJA LUKA, JULY 30 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik said he will run for the same position in the next general elections and that he believes in victory.

"In my view, since this opposition won't stabilize anytime soon, I might leave politics in about ten years. These are the best years for politics; my only problem is that I started too young," Dodik told the Banjaluka.net portal. He emphasized that he will leave politics if he loses the elections, and once he leaves for good, he will certainly no longer be involved in politics. "I am working to ensure a transfer of power within the SNSD, and as you can see, many younger and middle-aged people are significantly represented in the local party leadership," said Dodik, who is also the leader of the SNSD. He stated that he will remain a corrective force for some time until he is sure that this party, which is successful and winning, will continue to do so without him. "That will be my greatest life and political victory," Dodik emphasized. He said that in the past decades, while the SNSD was in power, much was accomplished in Banja Luka, which the current authorities are unable to maintain. "Everyone who remembers this city from 20 years ago will say that it has undergone an expansion, not only in residential construction but also in its overall beauty, which the current government cannot even maintain... You arrive in Banja Luka via a highway; here is the largest clinical center, which we are building and will complete by adding facilities related to the secondary medical school, the Faculty of Medicine, and other sectors that we have not had until now. This will be the best and most comprehensive facility in the region," Dodik emphasized. He emphasized that well-organized hospital, pension, and financial systems, as well as constantly growing investments, will be the legacy he leaves behind in Republika Srpska. "I'm not one to boast, but together with my associates, I contributed to many things by creating policies that proved to be highly implementable, successful, resilient to various pressures, and effective even under impossible circumstances," Dodik said.
