BUDIMIR: REPUBLIKA SRPSKA HAS EXCELLENT SPECIAL UNITS

BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 10 /SRNA/ – The Minister of the Interior of Republika Srpska Željko Budimir said that Republika Srpska has excellent special-purpose units – the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit and the Gendarmerie units.

“Competition and rivalry are at a healthy level, and that helps test the capabilities of our units,” Budimir said at the final competition of the “Gendarmerie Decathlon” held in Zalužani near Banja Luka. He noted that several teams concluded the competition today through tactical exercises in shooting and other tactical combat disciplines. Budimir expressed satisfaction that a team from the Third Infantry /Republika Srpska/ Regiment of the Armed Forces of BiH also attended the “Gendarmerie Decathlon.” The winner of the first “Gendarmerie Decathlon,” organized by the Gendarmerie of the Ministry of the Interior of Republika Srpska, was the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit team. Second place went to the Gendarmerie unit from Foča, while third place was taken by the Gendarmerie unit from Banja Luka. The Minister of Interior of Republika Srpska Željko Budimir opened the “Gendarmerie Decathlon” on Wednesday, October 8, in Zalužani near Banja Luka. The competition brought together members of all Gendarmerie units, the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit, and the First Battalion of the Sixth Infantry Brigade of the Third Infantry /Republika Srpska/ Regiment.
