VIŠKOVIĆ: PROCEEDINGS CANNOT BE CONDUCTED WITHOUT EVIDENCE
BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 4 /SRNA/ - Former Republika Srpska Prime Minister Radovan Višković told SRNA that the decision of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH to suspend proceedings against him, President Milorad Dodik, and Speaker of the National Assembly Nenad Stevandić confirms that legal proceedings cannot be conducted without evidence or based on political decisions, pressure, or someone’s wishes.
"It cannot and should not be done that way. I hope this serves as a warning for all future actions", Višković said, who currently serves as acting director of “Autoputevi Republike Srpske” /Republika Srpska Highways/. Višković confirmed that today he received a notification from the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH stating that, due to a lack of evidence, proceedings against him for the alleged attack on the constitutional order are being suspended. "The investigation is now being suspended due to a lack of evidence. That’s BiH, that’s how it works…", Višković said. Višković reminded that he has believed since the beginning there were no legal or any other grounds for initiating the investigation. "At the time, it was a political decision by the Prosecutor’s Office and the Court of BiH to initiate the proceedings and exert pressure on Republika Srpska and its institutions. There were never any legal grounds for such serious accusations, and today we have received that confirmation in writing", Višković said. He specified that Republika Srpska and its leaders in the past period endured strong threats and pressures that could have created a lot of negativity in BiH, and could have even endangered peace in the region. He says that he is glad there was wisdom and common sense to affirm that peace in this region comes first, and that Republika Srpska did not provoke conflicts as the other side did. Višković said that all parties in BiH should sit at the table, talk, and reach compromise solutions in the interest of the three peoples. "There is always a solution that can satisfy the people living in both entities", Višković said. The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH told SRNA that the investigation against Milorad Dodik, Radovan Višković, and Nenad Stevandić has been suspended, as it was determined that there is insufficient evidence to prove they committed the criminal offense of "attacking the constitutional order".
