MARIČIĆ: THE MAYOR MUST ENABLE THE WORK OF THE CITY ASSEMBLY PRESIDENT

BANJA LUKA, December 2 /SRNA/ - Goran Maričić, Acting President of the SNSD City Board in Banja Luka, condemned the actions of Mayor Draško Stanivuković, who blocked the offices of the President of the City Assembly, and called for regular Assembly sessions to be held.

"The offices of the President of the Assembly have been locked, leaving him without access to the official seal and unable to perform his duties. We expect the mayor to create conditions for the Assembly President to work and to schedule a session. The conclusion is that the City Assembly must meet once a month," Maričić said after the meeting of the SNSD City Board Presidency. He noted that the session reviewed reports on the work of local committees and analyzed the results of the recent early elections. "Conclusions were adopted which will serve as the basis for future work. The most important members of the City Board will have the task of engaging with citizens, identifying their personal and general needs, and conveying these priorities to the City Assembly and the republican institutions," Maričić stated. He believes that in this way, through direct dialogue, the interests of citizens will be properly articulated. "We will talk with representatives of various organizations in order to create new legislative solutions, make life easier for residents, and restore the trust we once enjoyed in Banja Luka," Maričić added. The meeting of the SNSD City Board Presidency was also attended by SNSD Vice President Željka Cvijanović.
