DODIK: MAX PRIMORAC DARED TO EXPRESS HIS VIEWS PUBLICLY; FREEDOM OF THOUGHT UNACCEPTABLE FOR SARAJEVO
BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 13 /SRNA/ –Even freedom of thought is unacceptable for Sarajevo, as now Max Primorac has become a target of persecution because he dared to think and express his views publicly, said SNSD leader Milorad Dodik.
Dodik assessed that ideological uniformity is Sarajevo’s model of operation, and anyone beyond that framework is condemned to a media lynching. “Now Max Primorac is the target of persecution because he dared to think and publicly express his views. Some of Max Primorac’s positions are acceptable to me, with some I disagree. But it is his right to have his own views on the situation and relations in BiH and no one may deny him that right,” Dodik stated. As he said, it is particularly worrying when this is done by former Grand Mufti Mustafa Cerić. “When religion gets entangled in politics, it always brings radicalism. As if Sarajevo were not already radicalized and exclusive enough. Because when Alkalaj represents only Bosniak views using the money of Republika Srpska citizens, it is then considered acceptable. But when Primorac, at his own expense, says what he thinks, that becomes grounds for a witch hunt,” Dodik said. According to him, that is the essence of Sarajevo’s problem. “What they object to is not what is being said, but who is saying it. Their ‘freedom of thought’ applies only as long as a pre-defined position is being repeated. Anything beyond that circle is declared dangerous, hostile, or traitorous,” Dodik posted on X. That is why today, he added, it is not only Max Primorac who is under attack, but the very idea that a different opinion can exist in BiH. “A society that persecutes thought does not defend the truth - it merely confirms its own fear of it,” Dodik concluded. Senior research fellow at the Heritage Foundation, Max Primorac, said at an international conference in Zagreb dedicated to the Dayton Peace Agreement that the so-called Bonn powers are the main culprit behind population emigration from BiH, the dysfunction of the economy, and deep ethnic intolerance. Sarajevo media report that in his address Primorac presented a series of controversial views on the constitutional structure of BiH, the role of the international community, and the position of the constituent peoples, and that the most attention was drawn by his claim that, due to the position of Croats in BiH, “the only realistic solution is the formation of a third entity.”
