KOŠARAC: MEETING WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF INTERNATIONAL LAW FIRM NEXT WEEK

SARAJEVO, JANUARY 13 /SRNA/ - The Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Staša Košarac, supported the conclusions of the Presidency of BiH regarding Trgovska Gora and announced a meeting next week with representatives of the international law firm engaged in this case.

Košarac told SRNA that he had informed the Cabinet of the Serb member of the Presidency of BiH, Željka Cvijanović, who had proposed the conclusions. He emphasized that institutions at all levels of government in BiH should utilize all available legal and diplomatic means to protect the health of 250,000 people and the environment. Košarac reminded that the conclusions represent a continuation of activities initiated by the then Serb member of the Presidency of BiH, Milorad Dodik, on whose proposal the Presidency of BiH obliged all competent institutions to address the issue of constructing the disputed disposal facility at Trgovska Gora. “The institutions of Republika Srpska and its representatives at the joint level are fully mobilized and committed to preventing Croatia from carrying out this intention,” Košarac said. Košarac added that Republika Srpska is conducting concrete activities on the ground in accordance with the plan of the Legal and Expert Team. “That contribution is very tangible and truly encouraging. We will not give up the fight against the construction of the disposal facility at Trgovska Gora,” Košarac emphasized. The Presidency of BiH concluded, at yesterday’s session, that in the case of Trgovska Gora, BiH should utilize all available legal and diplomatic means to protect its citizens and territory from potential long-term and irreversible consequences.
