IVANOVIĆ: DRINA RIVER EMBANKMENT NEAR KARAKAJ IS PRIORITY
ZVORNIK, JANUARY 15 /SRNA/ - Zvornik Mayor Bojan Ivanović told SRNA that BAM 13 million approved for the city by the Government of Republika Srpska will be allocated to several capital projects, with the construction of a Drina River embankment in the Terminal settlement near Karakaj being the top priority.
Ivanović stated that this project should be implemented as soon as possible, as the Terminal settlement, with approximately fifty residential buildings, is the first area to be affected when the Drina overflows its banks. Emphasizing that project documentation for the Drina River embankment in the flood-prone section has already been completed, Ivanović stressed that he is in contact with Miroslav Milovanović, director of the public institution Vode Srpske, regarding the organization of a meeting at which the implementation of this project would be agreed in detail. He noted that the funds approved by the Government of Republika Srpska will also be directed toward the construction of road infrastructure, water supply and sewerage networks, sports facilities, as well as projects in the field of tourism. Ivanović stated that the allocation of funds provided by the Government of Republika Srpska will be determined for each of the listed projects, and that, accordingly, a budget rebalance will be carried out, defining the capital projects to be financed from these funds. He added that the Government of Republika Srpska has already disbursed part of the approved funds, enabling the implementation of some of these projects to begin. The Government of Republika Srpska has identified priority projects within the Republika Srpska Public Investment Program to be financed from this year's budget, for which BAM 147,740,700 has been allocated, including BAM 13 million for capital projects in Zvornik.
