REPUBLIKA SRPSKA DELEGATION'S VISIT TO ISRAEL PAVES PATH TO BETTER FUTURE
BELGRADE, JANUARY 29 /SRNA/ – Israel can be an excellent bridge between Banja Luka and Washington, and what the delegation of Republika Srpska, including SNSD leader Milorad Dodik, achieved during its several-day visit is of great importance, political analyst Dragomir Anđelković assessed.
Anđelković says this visit, which also includes the acting President of Republika Srpska, Ana Trašić-Babić, is extremely important for paving the path to a better future. He pointed out that circumstances are such that the world is definitively and permanently changing, and that in the context of the rift between the United States and the EU, it is very important for Republika Srpska to orient itself toward factors that are functional, have a strategy, and demonstrate the strength to implement it. "That means the United States, Israel, and other partners of Washington," Anđelković told SRNA. He assesses that Republika Srpska can achieve a great deal in this way, while on the other hand orientation toward the EU is hollow. He explains this is because the EU continues an anti-Dayton course, which Euro-Atlantic powers once jointly implemented, but from which the United States is now gradually withdrawing. He believes that this visit also paves a better path for Bosniaks, provided they view matters rationally. "So far, they could conclude that they are cannon fodder in a great game, from which they derive no benefit. However, if they realize that the world is changing and accept what Banja Luka is doing, this could be a path for BiH to truly consolidate on the Dayton-based principles," Anđelković explained. He emphasizes that what the Republika Srpska delegation headed by Dodik achieved in Israel is very important for Republika Srpska. "If there is a rational approach, this could also be important for BiH, because it is the only way for BiH to consolidate in the new global circumstances," Anđelković said. The Republika Srpska delegation also consists of Radovan Kovačević, the Serb deputy in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly.
