CVIJANOVIĆ DEMANDS ACCOUNTABILITY FOR SHAMEFUL CONCERT IN ŠIROKI BRIJEG

BANJALUKA, FEBRUARY 15 /SRNA/ – The Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović expects the competent authorities to investigate all circumstances and assign responsibility for the shameful events at the Marko Perković Thompson concert in Široki Brijeg, which were marked by Ustasha iconography, chants and symbols of the criminal Independent State of Croatia /NDH/.

Cvijanović also expects the authorities to prevent the recurrence of similar incidents anywhere in BiH. "I strongly condemn the horrific and disturbing scenes from the Thompson concert in Široki Brijeg. I am appalled by the Ustasha iconography, slogans, and symbols of the criminal NDH that marked this event," Cvijanović stated. She warned that glorifying this dark ideology represents a dangerous attempt at historical revisionism and is a profound insult to all victims, particularly to the Serbian people, who suffered tremendous losses and genocide during the NDH period. "There is no place for such occurrence anywhere in the civilized world, and certainly not in BiH," Cvijanović stated on "X". At the concert in Široki Brijeg on Friday, February 15, Thompson performed the song "Bojna Čavoglave" accompanied by the Ustasha salute "Za dom spremni!", which the audience chanted in unison with him. The performance at the Pecara Sports Hall was filled with iconography and symbols of the notorious Independent State of Croatia, as well as references to the wars of the 1990s. In recent years, Thompson's concerts have been banned or canceled in the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, and Slovenia, where he has been described as a promoter of neo-Nazism and Ustasha ideology.
