MINIĆ: REPUBLIKA SRPSKA MUST CAPITALIZE ON NEW STATUS AFTER TRUMP JR. VISIT
BIJELJINA, APRIL 8 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska has gained a status with the visit of Donald Trump Jr. that it must now capitalize on, Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić has stated.
Minić said that Trump Jr.'s visit to Banja Luka is significant, as he represents one of the figures connected to world-class investors. "It is important that Republika Srpska has gained a status that we must now use when it comes to cooperation, not only in infrastructure projects, but also in everything we heard about global markets, information technologies, artificial intelligence, and so on," Minić stressed. He added that after the meeting with business leaders, they held extended talks in a very constructive atmosphere, noting that Trump Jr. also contacted relatives in the United States. Minić said that Trump Jr. left Republika Srpska last night for a third country, where he is also traveling for investment-related meetings and arrangements. "The most important thing is that we have remained in contact. We are now sending some of our projects - everything we believe we can deliver," Minić said. The prime minister noted that Republika Srpska is a capable partner and should not be described as small, adding that it will be of interest given global developments, particularly energy disruptions, which he sees as an opportunity. "This visit, in addition to its economic aspect, carries a strong political message," Minić said. He added that he had a meeting this morning with representatives of a company from Singapore exploring entry into the European market, noting that this visit also represents a major opportunity for Republika Srpska. Speaking about the recent influx of diplomatic visits, Minić said that one group includes representatives of embassies focused primarily on EU interests and assisting progress on the Growth Plan and reform agenda toward what they describe as becoming part of a larger European family. "On the other hand, we have ambassadors focused specifically on business activities. For each meeting, we prepared data on how many of their legal entities and individuals operate in Republika Srpska and the scale of trade exchange," Minić added. He stressed that when it comes to investors, administrative barriers must be removed more efficiently. Regarding gas, Minić said that Republika Srpska aims to be prepared for both interconnection options. "The visits of President Milorad Dodik to both the United States and the Russian Federation in the coming month will ensure that we face no problems and that we have two major and strong partners," Minić added.
