ŠPIRIĆ: NEW TECHNOLOGIES AND OLD MISCONCEPTIONS

SARAJEVO, AUGUST 16 /SRNA/ – Nikola Špirić, Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, has accused BiH’s Central Election Commission /CEC/ of creating complete confusion by introducing new technologies while repeating old misconceptions on the eve of the election campaign.

"The opposition is under the illusion that it will win the election without a program or vision, while new technologies are being used to somehow predetermine the election result and make them the winners. There may be something new in the new technologies, but there is nothing new in the opposition. New technology, old opposition. The only thing that unites this opposition is defeat," Špirić told SRNA. He said that voters were not at the center of the disorganized electoral process, nor was there a focus on making it easier for them to exercise their democratic right. "Through a complicated voting process and changes whose legality is questionable, they are creating suspicion that scanners are being used to favor those who never win elections. For SNSD, voters remain the only priority, along with the program we have been implementing for 20 years in line with their wishes and the interests of Republika Srpska," Špirić said. He said he expected the adventure involving new technologies to further complicate the situation after the election, attributing this to the CEC, which, he said, obviously does not know what it is doing.
