VULIĆ: SRPSKA CONTINUES TO BUILD ON JELIĆS VISION AS STABLE AND PROSPEROUS
MODRIČA, SEPTEMBER 30 /SRNA/ - SNSD club leader in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Sanja Vulić said former Republika Srpska President Milan Jelić had laid the foundations for a vision of Srpska as a secure, economically stable and prosperous community.
"We owe great gratitude to the institutions of Republika Srpska and the Serb people for preserving those foundations and continuing to build Republika Srpska in line with President Jelić's vision," Vulić said in Modriča, where she attended a commemoration marking 19 years since Jelić's death. Jelić's son Petar said it was important to the family that the memory of his father continued to live on. "Every year, more and more people attend the commemoration, especially young people. That only shows that all the ideas he worked for and promoted during his lifetime continue to live on to this day," Jelić said. He thanked the institutions of Republika Srpska for taking part in the commemoration each year, noting that his father had left behind a legacy shaped with the future in mind. Milan Jelić, then president of Republika Srpska, businessman and politician, died on September 30, 2007.
