UNIVERSITY OF ISTOČNO SARAJEVO ENTERS PRESTIGIOUS GLOBAL RANKING

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 1 /SRNA/ - The University of Istočno Sarajevo has made a significant step forward on the international academic stage, entering the prestigious Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2027 for the first time.

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 1 /SRNA/ - The University of Istočno Sarajevo has made a significant step forward on the international academic stage, entering the prestigious Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2027 for the first time.

This year's ranking includes 2,297 universities from 118 countries and territories, making it one of the most comprehensive global comparisons of higher education institutions, the University of Istočno Sarajevo said in a statement. "Being included in one of the world's best-known and most influential university rankings marks an important milestone in the University's development and confirms that the quality of teaching, scientific research, international cooperation and the institution's continuous improvement have also been recognized globally," the statement said. The achievement is particularly significant given the steady rise in the number of higher education institutions worldwide and growing competition across the global higher education sector. The University said its inclusion in the Times Higher Education ranking was the result of the joint work and dedication of teaching staff, associates, researchers, students and employees across the University and its member institutions, as well as continued efforts to improve teaching quality, scientific research and international cooperation. For the University of Istočno Sarajevo, the recognition is not only an acknowledgment of its work to date, but also a responsibility and a strong incentive for further progress. In the coming period, the University said it would continue strengthening its research capacity, the visibility of its scientific results, international cooperation, student and staff mobility, and participation in international projects. The ranking uses 17 carefully selected performance indicators grouped into five key areas: teaching and the learning environment, research environment, research quality, international outlook and industry links. The University of Istočno Sarajevo and the University of Sarajevo are the only two higher education institutions from BiH included in the prestigious ranking, the statement said. Harvard University has held first place for 11 consecutive years, followed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology /MIT/, Princeton University and Stanford University.
